Cam in BC sent me this question yesterday:
I just ordered some Canadian retail catalogues online, and I am assuming the will come with my dealer # on them. Is that correct?
Yes and no, it depends how you ordered the catalogues. If you ordered your catalogues through the AMSOIL online store, they will not have your dealer number pre-printed on them. They will, however have a space for you to add your dealer number on the back.
To the left is an image of how the back cover will look - minus the dealer number of 5110482 - that's my number. The space for the referral # will be blank.
How to add your dealer number:
1. You can simply write your number in the space provided with a pen. I don't think this looks very professional but it's better than nothing.
2. You can also purchase a stamp from Staples or your local copy and print centre for around $15. I tried this and it worked okay. I had to let the ink dry for a while before touching it or it would smudge.
3. If you order 900 or more catalogues, you will qualify to receive free labels from the print centre that look like the white labels below.
***TIP: When I started my AMSOIL business, I ordered an entire case of catalogues and gave them out to every customer, prospect, friend etc and still ended up recycling several catalogues when they become out of date due to price and product changes. Be careful about ordering this many catalogues. A better strategy would be to help your customer order a free catalogue online. I'll go into further details on how to do this in a future post.
The best option?
If you ordered your catalogues directly from the print center, not from the AMSOIL online store, your name, phone number and dealer number will be pre-printed on the back like the image to the right. This is a good option as well but I still prefer the stickers.
I hope this helps Cam and anyone else that is considering ordering some catalogues.
