If you are a Triumph America (or Triumph America LT) rider, you may be wondering if it is worth your while to put fully synthetic, AMSOIL motorcycle oil in your bike with a quality AMSOIL oil filter. In fact, you may be wondering why you need to use motorcycle oil at all!
Generally speaking it’s critical to keep up on your oil changes, but with a motorcycle it’s even more important. With your Triumph America, you want to be sure that you are using a specially formulated MOTORCYCLE oil. With a bike, not only are you lubricating that 865 cc parallel twin engine, but you are also lubricating a wet clutch that you need to keep bathed in specially formulated oil as well. Nothing kills the rush you get on your ride more than the feel of an unreliable clutch or an overheating bike.
So if you are already using a specially formulated motorcycle oil give yourself a pat on the back! Refer to your owner's manual for your oil change intervals, and keep up on your maintenance.
Okay, so why would you want to consider upgrading from a basic formulated motorcycle oil to AMSOIL, fully synthetic oil? There are too many benefits to share in just one post, so I am going to give you the main benefits that might matter to you:
⁃ Reduce friction, heat, and wear
⁃ Promotes smooth, confident shifts
⁃ Controls foam (which if unchecked causes wear on your bike)
⁃ Provides superior rust and corrosion protection.
Consider using an AMSOIL oil filter as well. AMSOIL motorcycle filters trap more contaminants than many other filters. They last longer, stop smaller dirt particles, and help maximize your engine performance and protection.
So what does this really mean? Using AMSOIL metric motorcycle oil with an AMSOIL oil filter means you can run your oil and filter for up to twice the manufacturer's recommended change interval, or one full year (whatever comes first). Check out the AMSOIL 10W-40 100% SYNTHETIC METRIC MOTORCYCLE OIL product data sheet for full details. AMSOIL Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil is also backed by its own AMSOIL limited warranty! In a world where so many manufacturers are taking shortcuts to increase profit margins, I am proud to be an Independent AMSOIL Dealer who represents quality products determined to make your ride last as long as possible.
